HELP WITH FURNISHINGS
Donations exceeding £1200 have been received by the management committee of the Te Tawa Convalescent Home for Returned Soldiers, states a Christchurch exchange. The committee at a. recent meeting expressed appreciation of the action of the Invercargill sub-centre of the Red Cross in sending two parcels of furnishings for the home, the gift of a wheeled chair by Mrs. Walton's guild, and an easy chair by Mr. H. J. R. Somerville. The tender of the Timaru Furniture Company for the supply of dining and bedroom furniture (146 pieces in all) was accepted. The honorary secretary (Mr. P. O. Fox) reported that supplies of all kinds were being received, and these included blankets, sheeting, towelling, crockery, and cutlery.
