TO CORRESPONDENTS
In the course of the election campaign many letters have been received by "The Post." It has been possible to publish only a few. An attempt has been made to answer or acknowledge others, but this could not be done with "all in the final weeks. We wish to thank all correspondents and express appreciation of their interest in public affairs. It should be explained, also, that non-publication of a letter has not necessarily indicated adverse judgment on its merits. Other correspondents may have written on the same subject—and space could not be given for repetition—or the letter may "have been received on a day when important war news still further reduced the space for these expressions of the public viewpoint. Many of the letters were, in fact, of interest and would have been readily published in normal times.
