SALARIES OF TEACHERS
The Prime Minister (Mr. Fraser) has replied to representations made to him by the Technical Educational Association for an adjustment of teachers' salaries, that the matter is receiving the consideration of the Economic Stabilisation Commission. Simultaneously, the chairman of the association, Mr.W. B. Nicholson, of Lower Hutt, has received a telegram from the Minister of Education, Mr. Mason, offering whatever assistance he could in facilitating the matter, and stating that as the 1939 draff salary scale came under the administration of Mr. Fraser as Minister of Education, he would be more familiar with the previous representations on the subject.' The Prime Minister had promised to explain the full circumstances of the 1939 draft scale to the commission with a view to assisting the teachers as far as possible.
