BRITAIN AND SPAIN
OBSTACLE TO RELATIONS
LONDON, September 22. The British Government has informed General Franco that the presence of the Spanish Blue Division in the war against Russia is a serious obstacle to the development of AngloSpanish relations. Mr. Eden said it was one of the points made by Sir Samuel Hoare in his recent interview with General Franco. Sir Samuel also directed attention to various incidents of discrimination against British interests. Mr. Eden said that the Spanish Government had undertaken to investigate these points, and he looked forward to an early improvement in the situation. >v '•■■.■■-■■• ': " ■ • . ■
