Thirty years of service as organist and choirmaster ,at ..vW^esley Church, Taarnaki Street, was'completed on Sunday last by Mr. H. Temple White. At the morning service, the Rev. Ashleigh K. Petch paid tribute to the long and faithful service given by Mr. White, not only to the church, but also to the musical life of the community. -Mr: White came to Wellington, in 1913,fr0m Feilding, where he had already made his name as conductor of the Feilding * Methodist Choir, which won the choral contest at the Wellington Competitions in 1913 against choirs from different parts, of New Zealand. /
Mr. H. H. B. Jones, manager of the Perth branch of the Bank of NewSouth Wales, has * been appointed manager of that, bank in Melbourne. Mr. Jones was! manager of the Bank of New South Wales at Christchurch from 1932 to 1933,' acting inspector in New Zealand in 1934. and.later inspector in Australia, before taking up his appointment' as manager at Perth in 1935. ;
Mr. J. H. Torlesse, of the head office staff of the Bank of New Zealand, has been appointed manager of the Greytown branch of the bank.
