POPE MAY LEAVE ROME
LONDON, September 14,
Roman Catholic circles are discussing the possibility of the Pope leaving the Vatican if Rome becomes a scene of battle, says the Berne correspondent of the Associated Press of Great Britain. The Pope at present is virtually a prisoner of Air Marshal Kesselring. German troops so far have respected the Vatican City as neutral territory, but the situation is expected to become worse, with military developments in the near future.
Reuters correspondent in Switzerland reports that the Cardinals in. Rome have withdrawn into the Vatican City.
