N.Z.E.F. WEDDINGS
(Special P.A. Correspondent.) Rec. 10 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 13. Lieutenant Denis Dowling, of Ranfurly, was married to Miss Phyllis Clutterbuck, of London, at Willesdon. Lieutenant Dowling is an outstanding baritone who before the war sang at Sadler's Wells. He sang as a member Of the forces with the Department of National Service Entertainment before joining up with the light artillery and was commissioned just before the wedding on September 11. The bride is one of the four Hooper sisters, well known dancers. „,.-._ .„ Sapper George Muir, of Invercargill, has been married to Miss Louie Cole, of Chippenham. Sapper Muir is a prominent boxer. He has fought 17 bouts while he has been in England with a forestry unit, winning 13 and losing three. He was disqualified once.
