AUSTRALIAN ELECTION
- Eec. 1.30 p.m. SYDNEY, Sept. 14. ■ Labour has won 49 seats at the Federal elections, against a total of 25 for all other parties. Northern Territory is now the only undecided seat, but its member has no vote. The voting strength in the new • House will be: Labour 49, United Australia Party 14, United Country Party 9, Independents 2. In the old House the figures were: Labour 35, United Australia Party 24, United Country Party 12. Dame Enid Lyons, wife of. the former Prime Minister, has won the Darwin,, Tasmania, seat for the U.A.P. and becomes the first woman elected to the Australian House of Representatives. - ,
