BRIGHT ARMY CONTEST

Army Soccer players rei^esenting the Central and the Northern Militai,d?istrlcts played a 4-all draw on the principal ground at the Basin Reserve on Saturday afternoon. In perfect football weather, the game was one of the best of the season. The teams, as the score indicates, , were equally matched, and all the 22 players were in the best of condition. The result was a speedy and keenlycontested game, in which the result was really In doubt until the final whistle. Allen opened tho scoring for Central, and Sharp equalised for Northern. Then Robinson put Northern ahead for tho first time, but Seymour quickly equalised, and at the change-over the score was 2-all. Allan put Central ahead again at the start of the second spell, and the same player scored Central's fourth goal while Northern remained at only two, but towards the end Sharp scored twice to make 'it 4-all at the finish.

The only other senior games played in Wellington on Saturday were the Auld Memorial Cup semi-linals, in which Railways beat Comrades 5-1, and Waterside beat Marist 4-1. Scorers for Railways were Brown (2), Bell (2), and McLaggan, for Comrades Webb, for Waterside Brown (2) and Mildenhall (2), and for Marist R. Nunns.
