ARGENTINE GOVERNMENT

The Government Press chief denied foreign reports that the Ramirez regime had been overthrown, GFerieral Ramirez has issued a statement saying that the Government's present policies would be maintained "with firmness corresponding to the dignity of the Argentine nation." The statement followed a closed Cabinet meeting described as "unusually delicate." Meanwhile the former Foreign Minister, Rear-Admiral Storni, publicly assumed full responsibility for the letter to Mr. Cordell Hull requesting lend-lease aid which drew a rebuke from Mr. Hull and precipitated the Cabinet crisis. ! Rear-Admiral Storni said the letter was confidential. He did not expect Mr. Hull to publish it.
