HUTT ELECTORATE

Mr. J. .Hogan, Independent candidate for Hutt, addressing an audience of 700 in the King George Theatre yesterday afternoon, accused Mr. Nash of neglecting his electorate, and produced two witnesses on the stage to corroborate, what he said. They were men with families who had been forced to live under "appalling conditions" in spite of requests to Mr. Nash for some relief, Mr. Hogan said. Their attempts to obtain better housing could have been attended to had the member for the district been there; but they said they could not get in touch with Mr. Nash. No electorate, said the speaker, could be properly represented when its member was overseas.
