NAVAL HONOURS
AWARDS FOR BRAVERY
Information has been received from the High Commissioner for New Zealand that the King has approved the award of the Distinguished • Service Cross to Temporary Sub-Lieutenant (A) Colin Thomas White, R.N.Z.N.V.R.. for bravery, skill, and determination in air strikes from Malta. His father is Mr. Isaac White, McQueen's Road, Cheviot.
The King has also approved of the award of the Distinguished Service Cross to Temporary Sub-Lieutenant (A) Ernest Frank Pratt, R.N.Z.N.V.R., "for bravery and- skill in many air operations against the enemy." This officer was reported missing, presumed killed, on January 19, 1943. Sub-Lieu-tenant Pratt was born at Wellington, and before joining the naval service was a cadet in the New Zealand railways. His father is Colonel Frank Pratt, 9 Buckley's Road, Linwpod, Christchurch.
