VICTORY OVER ITALY
THANKSGIVINGS TOMORROW
Thanksgivings for the victory over Italy will be offered in churches in Wellington tomorrow. At St. Mary's, Karori, all the services will be of a thanksgiving nature, and a special Thanksgiving Evensong will take place at 7 p.m., which all church members are specially invited to attend. A similar service will be held at 7 p.m. at St. Peter's, Willis Street, when the preacher wiil be the Yen. W. Bullock, Archdeacon of Wellington. Anglican clergy have been authorised by the Bishop of Wellington to use appropriate Psalms, Lessons, and prayers, and his Lordship has suggested that the Te Deum be sung at the close of Evensong as a fitting conclusion to the day's worship. Tomorrow, at 11 a.m., thanksgiving services will be held at St. John's Presbyterian Church, Willis Street, and the Cambridge Terrace Congregational Church, the preachers being the Revs. Gladstone Hughes and C. G. Hedley Bycroft respectively, and at 7 p.m. there will be a public thanksgiving service at the Salvation Army Citadel, Vivian Street, when the speaker will' be Adjutant Fred Searle.
