NUFFIELD TRUST BOARD
The board of trustees of the Nuffield Trust for the Benefit of CrippledL Children met recently, at the Chief Justices Chambers, Sir Michael Myers, chairman, presiding. Other _ trustees nresent were Sir Donald McGavin and Sir James Grose. Apologies for unavoidable absence were received from Sir Charles Norwood and Mr. J. M. A. Ilott. Mr. Ernest W. Hunt, representing the honorary secretaries. Messrs. Ernest Hunt, Turner, and Co., also attended. ' , . The audited accounts of the trust, with the balance-sheet at Masch ,31, 1943, disclosed that the trust fund stood at £68,020 7s. Provision was made for a grant of £2540 to the New Zealand Crippled Children Society (Inc.), which the society will distribute between its 17 branches throughout the Dominion. ' ' After this provision there remained an excess of income over expenditure of £7 7s 9d, which was transferred to the accumulated fund, bringing this up to £52 8s 7d. The investments of the fund, mainly in New Zealand Government Stock and two mortgages, amounted to £68,204 18s.
The general and administration expenses for the year amounted to the small sum of 6s lOd. Mr. A. R. Sclanders, F.P.A.N.Z., was re-elected honorary auditor of the trust.
