"GET READY"
Occupied- Lands Warned
Rec. 1.30 p.m. LONDON, August 18. Algiers radio tonight broadcast a special "get ready" warning to the occupied countries from what it described as^'the Allied High Command in London."
The message said: "It is time for you to _prepare all your actions, and perfect all your preparations. All the elements ready to contribute to the success of eventual operations on French metropolitan territory must be fully equipped for their tasks. Every one of you must ask yourself what you can possibly do on the day when you hear the call of the inter-Allied High Command. We urge you to perfect all preparations most speedily,
, but with- the greatest care. The people of tho occupied country which Avill be chosen to be the first to welcome the Allies will be notified at the last minute. You in the past have heard similar messages from Allied headquarters. You have just heard one of the greatest importance.:'
General Eisenhower stated in Algiers, "We are ready to go at any minute.*' ,
