USE IN MIDDLE EAST

CAIRO. July 15 Middle East payments from the Patriotic Fund for June totalled £9718. The principal recipients are:— N.Z.Y.M.C.A., £6845; Rec Cross. £850; Church Army, £243; Y.W.C.A., £246; chaplains' allowances, £339; Divisional messes, £455. The N.Z.Y.M.C.A. share includes £3356 worth of free distributions to troops in the field. Between £1000 and £1500 was required for other amenities, including £340 for. books, which brought the cash expenditure for the ' month1 lo almost £ll ; 000.
