Rec. noon. RUGBY, July 12. Admiral Sir Bertram Ramsay, mentioned by General Eisenhower as one of those responsible under Admiral , Cunningham for the precise timing and perfect technique displayed on the beaches of Sicily, is the officer, who, j as a vice-admiral, planned the Dunkirk evacuation. Last year he arranged the North African landings.—B.O.W. Admiral Ramsay also accompanied Lord Jellicoe "on his mission to the Dominions in 1920.

' One dispatch emphasises that the most remarkable feature of the whole operation was the fact that no attempt whatever was made by enemy planes to attack the large and tempting1 target offered by the assault craft as ihfcy made their way to the shore through heavy seas. Enemy bombers did attack shipping later in the day, but there was no aerial opposition whatever to the original landings.— B.O.W.
