CABBAGE AND SILVER BEET

Wholesale and retail prices for cabbages and silver beet, to come into effect on Monday, were issued by the Price Tribunal last night. They are as follows:—Drumhead and Savoy cabbages sold in the North Island and Marl borough and Nelson, wholesale 17s a cw.t, retail 3d a lb; elsewhere, 13s and 2Jd respectively. Spring cabbage sold anywhere in New Zealand, wholesale 22s a cwt, retail 4d a lb. Silver beet sold in the North Island, wholesale 11s a cwt, 2hd a lb retail; elsewhere, 9s a cwt and 2d a lb. A note to the price order says that these prices will De altered from time to time as production and marketing conditions require.
