ARGENTINE CO-OPERATION
Rec. 9 a.m. MONTEVIDEO, July 9. The Argentine Foreign Minister, Admiral Storni, sent a message to the emergency committee for the political defence of the hemisphere, stating that Argentina is studying co-operation in the defence of the hemisphere. The Argentine delegate, attending a meeting of the emergency committee for the first time, promised that Argentina would co-operate in the best possible manner with the other American nations.
Democratic circles in Buenos Aires interpreted Admiral Stornie's announcement as paving the way for an eventual break with the Axis.
