GIBRALTAR OIL BLAZE

SECOND IN A WEEK

LONDON, July 8. Gibraltar has had its second fuel blaze in a week.

A correspondent says that this latest fire broke out early yesterday morning in a petrol dump at the foot of the Rock. The flames, 100 feet high, lit up the Rock face, but the fire services got the fire' under control before it could do any damage. The cause is being investigated.

A message from Gibraltar on July 1 said that thick black smoke surrounded the Gibraltar area on the previous day, when oil tanks caught fire and flames shot skywards, giving the impression of a large fire. Fire brigades and dockyard tugs quickly quelled the flames.
