TOUR OF TUNIS
TRIUMPH FOR DE GAULLE LONDON, June 27. General de Gaulle today continued his tour of Tunis and the city turned out to give him a big welcome wherever he appeared. Citizens assembled in thousands this morning when the general, in a great fighting speech, gave Frenchmen in the Motherland a message of hope for the future. He said that at the present stage of the great drama that was going on the eyes of all Frenchmen were turned towards France. Never had the masses of the French people in France been so closely united as today, and in spite of their "misfortunes they retained a vitality which nothing could* touch. He acknowledged France's indebtedness to Britain, Russia, and the United States. Before he spoke, General de Gaulle inspected a parade of French and Allied troops, in company with the Comm-ander-in-Chief of the French troops in Tunisia. He then drove to the cathedral, where he was greeted by the French Resident-General in Tunisia. mmmmmm^mmmm^m mm.mmm '
