WOMAN FLIGHT ENGINEER
Rec. 11 a.m. LONDON, June 24. Slim, curly-headed Pat Parker, aged 29, is the first woman in England to gain an appointment as a flight engineer. She serves with the Air Transport Auxiliary, • delivering planes from the factories to the airfields. Her appointment means that all-women crews may now fly giant bombers —Halifaxes, Stirlings, and Fortresses.
