ON YANGTZE FRONT
HEAVY FIGHTING GOING ON
LONDON, June 9
Chinese troops on the Yangtze front have penetrated into the suburbs of a city 30 miles north-west of the Japanese-controlled base of Hankow. Chungking says that heavy fighting is going on. About 50 miles to the north another Chinese column is within 10 miles of the main railway line.
United. States bombers flew into Indo-China yesterday and attacked military' targets.
