INQUEST ADJOURNED
An inquest into the death of George Thomas Fanning, aged 46, who was struck by a tram in Lambton: Quay on the night of Api*il 24 and died on the way to hospital, was opened by the Coroner (Mr. W. G. L. Mellish) ydsterday afternoon and adjourned so that evidence could be obtained on the result of a post-mortem examination and analysis. Evidence wag. given that Fanning appeared to be under the influence of liquor when, he staggered across Lambton Quay in front of the tram, the motorman of which. was unable to stop before strikjug-iiim.
