(Rec. 9 a.m.) LONDON, April 30. Paris radio says that a conference is in progress in Teheran between the commanders-in-chief of the British, American, and Russian troops in the Middle East.
(Rec. noon.) RUGBY, April 30. The biggest campaign of its kind in British history is being prepared - by the Ministry of Labour to secure for the nation as many nurses and midwives as can be mustered. There is a shortage of several thousands. —8.0. W.

Avenger tor-pedo-bombers and Dauntless divebombers, with a Lightning and Corsair escort, attacked Teli. two miles north-west of Katere. A fire was started. Avenger and Dauntless planes, supported by Wildcat fighters, attacked the Japanese positions at Munda Island. Hits were scored on the runway and on anti-aircraft gun positions "All the United States planes returned from these attacks."—B.O.W.
