RECEIVED STOLEN WHISKY
A verdict that Leonard James Thompson Ross, carrier," aged 39, had been guilty of receiving five bottles of whisky, knowing them to have been stolen, has been returned by a jury in the Supreme Court, and the prisoner remanded for sentence on Friday. Ross wa s charged on two counts, one of receiving six cases of whisky valued at £42 18s, and the other of receiving eight cases valued at £57 4s, but the jury found he had received only five bottles found in his possession. The Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) presided. Mr. W. H. Cunningham prosecuted, and Mr. W. J. Stacey appeared for Ross.
