RECIPROCITY WITH AUSTRALIA

The hope was expressed by Mr. Parry, as Minister of Social Security, tonight that reciprocity of social security benefits between Australia and New Zealand would come as ,-i result of the remodelling of the Commonwealth pensions laws now in train. The chairman of the Social Security Commission, Mr. H. Digby Smith, had been instructed by the Government to raise the question during his present visit to Canberra. In the close relations between New Zealand and Australia, there were many similar arrangements.
