W.A.A.F.'S GO OVERSEAS
FIRST PARTY AWAY
It was announced today by the Minister of Defence (Mr. Jones) that recently the first members of the Women's Auxiliary Air Force to be selected for duties overseas embarked for service beyond the> Dominion. The Minister said that at the present time he was not at liberty to disclose the destination of the girls, except to say that they would serve at Air Force establishments where previous experience had shown that the conditions would not be to the detriment of either their health' or their general welfare. The Minister said that parents could be assured that no girl would be sent unless she had volunteered for service overseas and had her parents' consent in writing to go.
