AUCKLAND WEDDING
WELL-KNOWN FAMILIES
UNITED
A wedding of wide interest took place at the Holy Trinity Church, Devonport, Auckland on Friday afternoon, when Miss Dorothy Miles, eldest daughter of Brigadier R. Miles, D.5.0., M.C., of the Second N.Z.E.F., Middle East (now a prisoner of war), and the late Mrs Miles, was married to Sergeant Graham Thorne George, R.N.Z.A.F., only son of Mr. and Mrs. Murray Thorne George, of Whenuapai. Chaplain Captain B. R. Brierley performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by Lieutenant-Colonel H. G. Wilding, D.5.0., wore a lovely trained gown ot ivory satin brocade. Her long veil was caught to the head with a spray of flowers, and she carried a sheaf of Christmas lilies. A picture frock of white muslin with a narrow green stripe was worn by the bridesmaid, Miss Diana Leversedge. Its fully flared skirt was accented at the waist with a wide laced belt in green velvet, and the short puff sleeves and hemline were finished with green bows. A spray of deep red flowers was worn on the head, and a sheaf of deep red gladioli was carried. • • The best man was Sergeant Malcolm Sommerville, Army Medical Corps. A reception was given at the Esplanade Hotel, Devonport, by Mrs. Wilding.
