NORTH AFRICA DISPUTE
FRENCH GENERALS CONFER
(Rec. 9 a.m.) NEW YORK, January 24. The Washington correspondent of the "New York Times" says that evidently the State Department has received reports on conferences between Generals de Gaulle and Giraud.with the purpose of reaching an understanding enabling both groups jointly, to support the Allies. These negotiations presumably have the blessing of Britain and America. The correspondent says that the Secretary of State indicated that something had been received on that subject, but he did not give details.
