ENEMY ADVANCE STOPPED
(Rec. 10 a.m.) RUGBY, Jan. 25. A North African Allied communique states that the enemy advance, in the Ousseltia Valley has been stopped and our forces patrolled north from Ousseltia. A raid by American troops (resulted in the capture of 80 prisoners, and fifty prisoners were captured in the British sector. Fighters made many sweeps in support of our ground forces. On Saturday night bombers attacked the docks at. Bizerta and vehicles on the roads eastward of Kairwan. Yesterday the harbour at Susa and the airfield near Medenin were bombed. At least one ship was hit. One enemy fighter was destroyed and one of ours is missing.—8.0. W. LONDON, January 25. ' The Allies have brought General yon Arnim's panzers to a standstill on the central front, says Reuters correspondent in Tunisia. British infantry to the north of the road from Bou Arada to Pont dv Fahs have the Germans on the defensive, following the failure of three powerful German tank thrusts.
