CRICKET COMPETITION
A decision to carry on with the senior championship competition without dividing the 12 teams was reached at yesterday's meeting of the management committee of the Wellington Cricket Association. It was proposed to separate the top six teams from the other six but a majority of the committee preferred to keep the competition open in the meantime to all the teams in order to sustain the interest of players. It is intended that after five matches the top four teams will play off for the championship. The senior fixtures for Saturday are:—Air Force v. University, Kelburn No. 1; Midland-Wellington v. School of Artillery, Basin No. 1; Hutt v. St. Patrick's College Old Boys. Basin No. 2; Petone v. Wellington College Old Boys, Petone; Karori v. Kilbirnie, Kilbirnie No. 1; Army v. Institute Old Boys, Kilbirnie No. 6.
