Squadron Leader H. L. Andrews, M.8.E., who was included in the New Year Honours, is the younger son of Mrs. Andrews and the late Mr. W. A. Andrews, who lived for many years at Karori. He was educated at Karori School and Wellington College, and left for England to join the Royal Air Force about twelve years ago. After seven years' service he resigned and returned to New Zealand, put was called up again before the war started and has since served in the Far East. Until he left to join the R.A.F., Squadron Leader Andrews was on the commitee of the Karori Lawn Tennis Club. His mother lives with her daughter, Mrs. J. M. Tolley, Pahiatua, and his brother, Mr. Les. Andrews, lives at Kaitoke.
