In merely convicting James Julio Meo at P^tbhe on Wednesday of the offence of driving along the Hutt Soad ftpm Kaiwarra to Petbne with his headligkts fully oh, Mr. W. C. Harley, S.MT|aM it would be wise if the traffic department made it clear in the Press just what constituted an offence against the regulations. Many persons \? believed that so long as the headlights did not %c .0ut...-to., sea there, was ,no offence, There were portions! of the Hutt Road where it was dangerous to drive under restricted lights, such as between the supports of the. overhead bridge. It was quite clear that it would be an offence to drive south, but it was hot so clear that it was an offence to drive north. Inspector Boss said he did not know what the traffic department could do about it There did appear to be an anomaly in the fact that along the se.frfront on the west coast there was no restriction, but the restriction definitely applied both ways alongside the harbour on the Hutt Hoad.
