LAYING TOTALISATOR ODDS
(P.A.). AUCKLAND, This Day,. Three women in the Magistrate's Court today admitted laying totalisator odds on Auckland racecourses. Gladys Florence . Mackrell,. who , was also charged with "trespassing on the Ellerslie course on January 1, was sentenced 'by the' Magistrate, Mr. Luxford, to 14 days-imprisonment. He said she had been twice convicted for book-1 making and three times for trespassing -on the1 course. Agnes Thurlow, elderly and a pensioner, was fined £10 for laying totalisator odds and for tres-! passing on the trotting course was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called within two years.
