JAPS CLAIM TO HAVE SUNK U.S. TRANSPORT
(Rec. 9 a.m.) NEW YORK, Nov. 29.
A Berlin radio dispatch from Tokio claimed that Japanese planes sank a 12,000-ton American transport and one escorting destroyer in the Indian Ocean on Wednesday. The radio said' that four destroyers and several corvettes escorted the transport, which was a passenger liner of the President class.
