PLUMBERS' APPRENTICES
Without going into the merits or demerits of the proposed »mendment, a judgment of the Court of Arbitration, delivered by Mr. Justice Tyndall, has declined the application \ of ,the Wei? lington Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Related Trades Industrial Union of Workers that the- apprenticeship order concerning the trade should be varied to reduce the apprenticeship term from six years to five. The -proposed amendment,- the judgment states, would be inconsistent with and render unworkable statutory provision of the Plumbers Registration and Education Acts, and it was not for the Court to do anything to defeat or circumvent an express direction of the Legislature.
