ACCIDENTS
The Free Ambulance had a busy time yesterday, answering calls in both the city and Hutt Valley. Mrs. D. Gribble, 4 Boulcott Street, suffered concussion and shock when she was knocked down by an outward-bound tram at the corner of Willis and Manners Streets. Maureen Hunt, a young child living at 47 Ludlam Crescent, Lower Hutt, fractured her right arm in a fall off a fence. Mr. S. Pewhairangi, storeman, 9 Ellice Street, had his ribs injured through being'struck by the handle of a wool-press. Mr. A. H. Kemp, process worker, 21 Mason Street, Lower Hutt, lost the first and second fingers of his right hand while working a press at 66 Ghuznee Street. Mr. R. Williams, waterside worker, 8 Salek Street, suffered severe lacerations to the left leg and shock by being caught between two trucks on the. wharf. In each case; the injured person was taken to hospital.
