(Rec. 12.30 p.m.) RUGBYC Nov. 1 Soviet headquarters repc/rts:—

"In the Stalingrad area the Russians defending the outskirts of a factory repulsed an attack by infantry and tanks, who retired, leaving 270 dead and two tanks on the pajttlefield. Elsewhere in the same aiiea the Russians are active and have pushed forward.

"East of Novorossisk an enemy company, disguised, in Red Army uniforms, tried to, penetrate the Russian, positions, but were mostly destroyed.
