CAKE FOR PRINCESS

N.Z. BROWNIE PACK'S GIFT

(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.) (Speoial Correspondent.) LONDON, October 31. Princess Margaret Rose received a birthday cake from the Whakapara Brownie Pack. A letter of thanks is going to New Zealand to Miss G. L. Rutherford, who is a teacher at the Whakapara School. The cake was sent to the New Zealand High Commissioner, Mr. Jordan, who forwarded it to Buckingham Palace, asking if the Princess might be allowed to accept it. An accompanying letter from the Brownies said that the cake was sent as "a token of loyalty and friendship for their Royal fellow Brownie, on the occasion of her 'flight' from Brownies to Guides."

The Whakapara pack comprises pakeha and Maori children, who contributed donations for which they worked.
