JAPANESE TALE OF SUCCESS
NEW YORK, October 31. Tokio radio, quoting the Domei news agency, asserted that 22,000 American seamen were dead and missing in the Pacific naval battles between August 7 and October 26, in which 65 American vessels, including nearly all her carriers, were lost, leaving the American navy "in an extremely critical position for the next two years."
