CHINESE RAID ENEMY BASE
CHUNGKING, October 28
The Central news agency states that Chinese bombers and fighters, operating from an undisclosed base, successfully raided Yungcheng in Shansi, the biggest Japanese air base in North China, hitting runways, hangars, and grounded planes. Japanese bombers from Burma raided Paoshan, Salween, and Mengtse, in southern Yunnan Province. Ten planes were shot down.
