HINDUS AND INDIA

MR. CHURCHILL REPLIES TO

LETTER

RUGBY, October 28

Mr. Winston Churchill has replied to a message sent to him by the Hindu Mahasabha, through its president, Mr. D. Savarkar, stating that he appreciates the endeavours made by the Mahasabha to promote unity among the various elements in India.

But Mr. Churchill added: "These have* not resulted in specific or concrete proposals enjoying the support of all the major parties in India."

Mr. Savarkar asked for the establishment of a national Government for India, and claimed that the Hindu Mahasabha's resolution had the support of the main parties.—B.O.W.
