ARMY VOLUNTEERS
Restrictions Lifted
Volunteers for the Army (including Maoris) and those members of the Home Guard who volunteer for partial mobilisation are now accepted without regard to the number of children they may have, and all existing orders and instructions imposing restrictions and limitations in respect of the enlistment or employment of men having more than a specified number of children have been cancelled.
The new provision is set out in the latest Army Headquarters administrative instructions. It is made clear, however, that there is no alteration in the existing provisions for payment of dependants' allowances, and that as before such allowances will not be. payable for more than five dependent children.
