SECOND FRONT ISSUE
TRADE UNIONISTS PATIENT
RUGBY, September 10. The following resolution has been carried by the Trades Union Congress relating to the opening of a second front: "Congress, sharing the general desire to give maximum assistance to Russia and hasten decisive military action which will bring about the defeat of the enemy, pledges the fullest support of the British trades union movement as soon as competent authorities decide the time has come to launch offensive action in Europe" An amendment expressing the conviction that the immediate organisation of a second front was necessary was defeated.~B.OW.
