SUNDAY TRANSPORT
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —Recently in your columns there appeared a notice to the effect that several long-distance motor services would no longer be running on Sundays, To the civilian this will not be great hardship, but to the chap in uniform it will be. It will be impossible for him to enjoy a few hours' leave at home with his parents or his wife and children. Petrol and tyres will be saved, no doubt, but could not the same result be secured by running the service cars on Sunday and leaving one of the week days off the schedule, thus allowing the men to arrive back in time for duty? There may be several reasons why the idea cannot be carried out; but it is put forward in the hope that something may be done to enable those in uniform to make use of the leave granted them. —I am, etc., \ ONE AMONG MANY.
