IVURAMAR GOLFERS DO WELL
Members of the Miramar Golf Club took their share "of honours at the New Zealand Golf Veterans' Cup tournament at Botorua last week. The ■ Veterans' Cup competition was won by Coliu Munro (Miramar), who beat H. T. Gillies (Hamilton) in the tinal by 2 and 1. Other Miramar players also had to line up when the trophies were presented. H. Parkin won the Veterans' Cup flight by beating D. MacCormick by 7 and 6 in the V.'r. Gunn took the Consolation Cup flight by beating T. Kelly by 3 and 2 in the final. The 70-year-old G. H. Scott distinguished himself by qualifying in second place for the Veterans' Cup with net ecores of 06 and 08, and this won him the Diehard Cup for players aged 65 or over. He also took the trophy for the best aggregate gross score in the qualifying rounds. A. Marsdcn and P. Kenouf combined well to win tho Canadian foursome. G. S. McNair and A. Marsden Qualified for tho Arikikapakapa Cup contest, but each fell In the first round. E. S. Palliser qualified for the Consolation Cup, but was beaten in the second round. ..To complete the successes of tho Miramar men, G. S. McNair and G. H. Scott won the Geyser Hotel Golf Veterans competition.
