MORE WEEKEND DOINGS

Teas were provided at the Hutt Valley Services Club at the weekend bj the vV.W.S.A. Transport and Cycle Sections, and donations were received from Messrs. Muhday (meat), Horn (milk), and Heggie (fuel) Mrs. Wood, tht convener, was assisted by Mesdames Miller and Gaynor. Items were given by Misses Phoebe Lawson, Heather and Margaret Wright, Mrs. Edser, and Messrs.' H. Rodway and Wilson. Mr. Mann was the pianist and Mr. J. B. Grey led the community singing. Y.W.C.A. HOSTESSES. On Sunday the service was conducted by Mr. L. Willing, of the Ngaio Methodist Church, and the entertainment was arranged by Mr. Farrant and Mr. G. A. Jesson. Groups helping at the weekend were:—Ladies of the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, who provided supper, members of the Wellington Croquet Association, girls of the de Havilland Aircraft Co., the Y.W.C.A. Residence and Baseball Club. Vegetables were received from the Russell Terrace Land Group. Gifts of jam will be welcomed by the Y.F.H., for their weekend work for men in uniform. SAILORS' FOOTBALL MATCH. The British Sailors' Society also report a full house throughout the week. The committee arranged a football match at Kelburn Park on Saturday and members of the Chart and Compass Club made and provided , afternoon tea. The footballers went, back to the rooms for tea and,'the usual Saturday evening social. Items were given by Mr. W. Black, a visiting seaman, Chart and Compass Club members, and the Jackson family supplied orchestral music. Mr. Lea, Port Missioner, gave the Sunday seryice, which was wejl attended. A social hour followed. Miss Ngaere Fenton was hostess. The Ladies' Guild of the society has arranged a social afternoon this week to raise funds for the purchase of a new billiard table, and the hostesses would be glad of contributions of cakes and produce for afternoon tea, at 138 Wakefield Street.. TOC H DANCE. The Toe H Servicemen's Club held its usual weekly dance last weekend. Supper was served in the lounge and on Sunday tea was provided for servicemen guests. The committee wishes to extend thanks to donors of cakes, scones, jam, etc., these being always gratefully received. Gifts of potatoes would be very much appreciated Thanks are also accorded musicians who gave their time on Friday evening, and whose playing was so much enjoyed.
