ARMY & WELLINGTON DRAW

Probably the brightest, game seun on the Basin Reserve this season was turned on by a Manawatu Army team and a Wellington representative Association football side on Saturday. Army showed themselves "to be superior in most branches of the play. Their forwards and halves were fast and accurate in passing and ball-control, and they were quick to take the Initiative. The defence, too, was very sound. Wellington were not Gelding their strongest eleven, but after they had been two goals down at the spell they succeeded, mainly by perseverance and some bouts of reall.v soon football in evening the score and taking the lead with 3-2. They were having much more of the ball than in the first half, and the Army defence was sorely tried several times. In the last ten minutes, however.
