FATAL WHARF ACCIDENT
"I don't see that any blame is attachable to the crane driver," said the Coroner (Mr. W. G. L. Mellish) at an inquest yesterday afternoon upon George Joseph Charles William Gray, aged 22, a seamaa, who died in hospital on August 8 after receiving head injuries when he was knocked into the sea from a platform alongside a berthed ship by a piece of timber that fell from a sling during unloading operations. The Coroner said he did not know the position regarding the making up of slings, but that might be the subject of an inquiry in another Court. He found that Gray's death was caused by severe cerebral injury and pneumonia. A witness said that Gray had been married only about six the accident '
